Anyone intending to conduct amusements with prizes must apply for an Amusements with Prizes Licence from the public officer appointed by the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs. Additionally, the venue must hold a valid Public Entertainment Venue Licence, issued by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) under the Places of Public Entertainment Ordinance (Cap. 172).
Application Conditions
- No Cash Prizes: Prizes must not be in cash form.
- Participation Motivation: Winning a prize must not be the sole reason for participation.
- Payment Limit: Each chance to win must not exceed HK$5.
- No Consecutive Wins: Winning a prize must not grant additional chances to win.
- On-Site Sales and Results: All prize sales and result announcements must occur on the same day at the venue.
- Inspection Rights: Police officers have the right to inspect the venue during entertainment hours to ensure compliance.
